Superintendent Search Service

NCSBA’s superintendent search service provides professional, high quality assistance with this critically important school board responsibility.  For a reasonable flat fee, plus board-approved expenses, NCSBA will:

• provide consultations and customize the search process for the board;
• draft a vacancy announcement and qualifications profile describing your system
• advertise the position n multiple media;
• conduct stakeholder surveys on the board’s behalf;
• compile and provide each board member with copies of all applications;
• handle all contact and correspondence with applicants;
• arrange interviews and assist with drafting interview questions;
• check references;
• arrange for background checks;
• guide the board regarding North Carolina laws pertaining to the search process;
• protect confidentiality; and
• provide the new board/superintendent team with a free workshop for up to 6 months after the employment start date.
