High School Video Contest

More Than a School

The NCSBA encourages students to show us how your school interacts with the local community! Whether it’s through events, volunteering, or partnerships, you are invited to create a video demonstrating the positive impact that your public school has beyond the classroom. This contest is open to member high schools and students are invited to submit a video production of less than 60 seconds in duration.

Eligibility

The contest is open to NCSBA member district high schools. NCSBA is the professional organization that represents 116 local boards of education in North Carolina.  It is a member-driven association that supports the school governance team – school board members, superintendents, senior administrative staff, and board assistants – in its complex leadership role. The association helps develop, communicate, and advocate for the perspective of North Carolina school districts.

Submission Information

All entries must be submitted online. We recommend hosting your own contest first. Check out the 2023 contest winner video links on this page for previous examples.

Media Permission Form

Students that place or earn honorable mention will have their video project and name, grade level, school, and school district posted on NCSBA’s website and social media sites. Be sure to obtain appropriate permission according to your district’s board policies and procedures prior to entering a submission.

Awards

The top videos, as determined by the judges, will be displayed during the 2024 NCSBA Annual Conference. Each category will have a first, second, and third-place winner.

Submission Deadline

Contest opens July 1, 2024. Videos must be submitted online no later than October 3, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Judging

Drawings will be judged on how well they address the topic, the quality of work, and the creativity of the video.
