2025 Theme: What's Super About Public Schools?

NCSBA encourages students to draw a picture of what makes their local public school super. That could be a teacher, school staff, or anything that they love about their school!

This contest is open to member elementary schools and students are invited to submit a poster for this 2025 Elementary Poster Contest. There are two submission categories: kindergarten through second grade (K-2) and third through fifth grade (3-5).

Eligibility

The contest is open to NCSBA’s 116 member-district elementary school students.

Submission Information

All entries must be submitted online. Do not mail posters as they will not be entered into the contest or returned. Each school can enter one poster per grade level. We recommend hosting your own contest first. Below are some tips for uploading student artwork.
  • Use a high-resolution camera. Many cell phones have the capability of taking sufficient pictures.
  • Be sure the artwork is well lit. Try to minimize glare by using indirect light sources.
  • Take the photo as straight on as possible to prevent distortion. Check to make sure the image is clear and not blurry.

Media Permission Form

Students that place or earn honorable mention will have their artwork and name, grade level, school, and school district posted on NCSBA’s website and social media sites. Be sure to obtain appropriate permission according to your district’s board policies and procedures prior to entering a submission.

Awards

The top posters from each submission category, as determined by the judges, will be displayed during the 2025 NCSBA Annual Conference. Each category will have a first, second, and third-place winner.

Submission Deadline

Contest opens May 20, 2025. Posters must be submitted online no later than October 1, 2025 at 5 p.m.

Judging

Posters will be judged on how well they address the topic, the quality of work, and the creativity of the design.

Submissions for the 2025 contest are closed. Check back for winners.
