School Board Leaders from Across NC to Guide Association Representing Public School Boards

Greensboro, NC – The voting delegates of the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) elected new officers and five new members to the governing board of directors during the NCSBA Annual Conference. NCSBA’s new president is Margaret Bradsher of Person County Schools. The president-elect for the upcoming year is Debbie Marsh of Mooresville Graded Schools, the vice president is Deanna Kaplan of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, and the treasurer is Carlos Riddick of Washington County Schools. Officers will serve a one-year term.

Members elected to serve their first two-year term on the association’s board of directors are Jennifer Dacey of Craven County Schools, Jerry Ethridge of Richmond County Schools, Steve Gainey of Brunswick County Schools, Deanna Jones of Cumberland County Schools, and Christina Sutton of Lincoln County Schools.

The board of directors establishes the mission and goals for the association and ensures that NCSBA activities and programs remain focused on these goals. In addition, the officers and directors are the local communications link between their regions and the association.
