Stand Up for Public Education|

The 2014 Education and Workforce Innovation Fund grant recipients were announced this Monday.  The grants were created in the 2013 legislative session, aimed at strengthening education programs that help students become both college and career ready. Grants support five-year programs in districts throughout North Carolina.

“These grants will accelerate innovation and partnerships with business and higher education in schools throughout North Carolina, and will empower our educators to be creative in how we prepare our students for college and a career,” Governor Pat McCrory said.

The 2014 grant recipients are:

  • Durham Public Schools
  • Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
  • Surry County Schools
  • Davidson County, Lexington City, and Thomasville City Schools
  • Duplin County Schools
  • Buncombe County Schools
  • Beaufort County Schools
  • Granville, Franklin, Vance and Warren Counties
  • Winston-Salem/Forsyth County
  • Chatham, Harnett and Lee Counties
  • Rutherford County Schools
