The North Carolina School Boards Association wishes to recognize those individuals, businesses, community members, employees, or school board members who have demonstrated ongoing dedication to the success of our K-12 students and the betterment of public schools in North Carolina for the Champion of Education award.
Examples of those who could be considered for the award include, but are not limited to:
- Serving on committees or advisory boards
- Volunteering in schools
- Sponsoring academic clubs or events
- Inspiring support for quality public schools through action and word (lobbying for federal/state legislation, participating in advocacy planning, publications, etc.)
- Providing career exploration opportunities for students (internships, job-shadowing, co-ops)
Please provide a one-page narrative which explains how the nominee demonstrates ongoing dedication to the success of students and the betterment of public schools in North Carolina.
All submissions for the Champion of Education award must also have the approval of the School Board Chair.

All items listed under the nomination specifications must be received by NCSBA on or before September 30, 2022.
