Twenty teachers, including all four principals of the small schools at East Wake, agreed to go under the clippers if the student body could raise $500 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which helps fund research of childhood cancer.

Lane Adams, a junior in the School of Engineering Systems who initiated the event, was pleased to announce more than $2,100 had been raised through the fundraiser, which concluded at the end of the school day on Friday.

“We’ve been working pretty crazily this week so it’s real exciting to see it pay off,” Adams said. “To me, this means we have a really good school; all the students raised this money, and all the teachers were willing to participate and cooperate.”
