Businesses, organizations, churches, and community volunteers play a key role in supporting the local schools and contributing to student success in many ways. The NCSBA Board of Directors established the Business and Non-Profit Honor Roll as a way for school boards to recognize those companies and individuals that support the education of our students, especially as schools face increasing budget uncertainty. The Business and Non-Profit Honor Roll helps districts say “thank you” for their vital contributions.
If your district is working with a local business, individual, or non-profit organization that deserves recognition, have their name(s) added to the NCSBA Business and Non-Profit Honor Roll. Follow the steps below to get started.
- Complete the nomination form
- The board must pass a resolution by unanimous vote to include the business/individual/organization on the honor roll
- Submit the resolution and the nomination form to NCSBA
- NCSBA will mail to the district’s superintendent a personalized recognition certificate and congratulatory letter to present to each honoree at an upcoming meeting
- NCSBA will publish the business honor roll in its online publications and at the NCSBA annual conference
The deadline for the initial honor roll is August 16. These nominees will be listed in publications slated for mid August. Board may continue to nominate individuals, businesses, and organizations after that date. The next deadline will be in October for publishing in conference materials. Please contact Ramona Miller at 919-747-6676 or Haley Hepburn at 919-747-6694 if you have any questions. Information and forms will be sent to the membership.
