Breakout Sessions

Thank you for your willingness to share your expertise by offering to present at NCSBA’s Annual Conference and help us provide the highest quality of educational leadership for boards of education in North Carolina.

NCSBA is seeking breakout session proposals in the following areas:

  • Board governance and engagement
  • Districtwide initiatives or programs
  • Educational technology
  • Parent and community engagement
  • Safe educational environments
  • School finance and budgeting
  • Breakout sessions are 60 minutes and will occur on Monday November 9, and Tuesday November 10. If selected, your session has a 50% chance of being scheduled on either day.
  • All session rooms are equipped with a projection screen, powered AV cart, and a microphone if the size of the room warrants. Presenters will need to use their own laptop, data projector, and any necessary adaptors. Special arrangements for internet and sound for video must be requested.
  • NCSBA asks each school district to only submit one breakout session proposal.
  • NCSBA welcomes submissions from educational organizations, however school board members and superintendents will be given priority in the selection process. 
  • NCSBA will only consider vendors who are either a Premier, Classic, or Diamond Partner of the Annual Conference Exhibit Show for a breakout session.

Session proposals must be submitted by Monday, September 28, 2026. 

In order to provide the highest quality of educational leadership training, session proposals are encouraged to have a mix of the following:

  • Explore key issues important to school board members
  • Enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of school board members
  • Stimulate and provoke discussion and additional audience engagement
  • Provide solid, practical, how-to information and tips that board members can take back and apply at the board table

Additional Information: 

  • NCSBA reserves the right to revise session titles and descriptions.
  • NCSBA does not pay honorariums or travel expenses for breakout session presenters.
